Purpose

This policy explains what types of personal information will be gathered when you visit and use the Sport Sheffield website and bookings services and how this information will be used. This policy applies to Sport Sheffield’s main web pages (i.e. www.sport-sheffield.com and online.sport-sheffield.com).  Sport Sheffield is a department of the University of Sheffield.

What we collect

In order to enable and provide certain services to you (e.g. facility bookings/activities or sports related memberships) we will ask you to register an account with us and provide some personal information; this may include some details being checked by a third party (GB Group) for verification and fraud prevention.

We may also ask you to provide some personal information when filling out forms on any of our websites or to give feedback, request support or request further services from us.

We use a third party Software and System Providers including but not limited to: BriefYourMarket, Reapit Software, Sage, Iam-Sold & Website Hosts and analytics platform providers including but limited to: BriefYourMarket, Google Analytics to send and manage and report on communications to all our customers.

We also collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our webmasters. This allows us to ensure that content from our site is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer.

If you attend one of our venues we may video or photograph you, and we operate CCTV cameras. This will usually be as part of general filming of the venue and will not usually focus on specific individuals, where this does not apply we will ask for your permission before hand.

By providing Sport Sheffield (University of Sheffield) with this data you are consenting to us holding and using your data for the purposes for which it was provided to us for a reasonable length of time.

What are you doing with my data?

Personal information provided to Sport Sheffield (University of Sheffield) by you will only be used for the purposes stated when the information is requested. We collect data relating to the demographic and interests of our users via tools such as Google Analytics and cookies set by Google advertising networks. This data is used in aggregated form to help improve the site and Sport Sheffield’s (The University of Sheffield’s) marketing efforts.

How do we store your information

Information which you provide to us will ordinarily be stored on our own secure servers or the servers of our service providers.  Sport Sheffield (University of Sheffield) work with third party organisations who provide certain functions and or features of our services to you.  Accordingly, information that we collect from you may be transferred to a 3rd Party company to allow us to carry out our day to day business.
