COVID 19 SAFETY
We ask all our customers to be considerate of each other and our staff members whilst attending our facilities.
Hand sanitiser stations will remain in place throughout and we encourage regular use during your visit.

DO YOU PROVIDE PARKING AT THE GYM?
Public gym members can apply for a parking permit, whilst this does not guarantee a parking space it allows you to access our designated parking area on Northumberland Road. We are unable to provide UOS students and staff with Parking Permits; these have to be applied for via the Parking Services.
Parking facility next to our gym building are only available to visitors by appointments. Whether it’s a physiotherapy appointment or a meeting with our staff member, please obtain a visitor parking pass from the reception which allow 1hour free parking.
ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS FOR UNDER 18?
Anyone over the age of 16 can have a full membership at Sport Sheffield which includes the gym and fitness classes. However, if you are unsure you can always book a fitness induction with us at the reception.
I'M NOT A MEMBER...
CAN I USE THE GYM FOR A DAY?
If you’d like to try out our gym facilities we do we offer a day pass that is available to purchase online or at the reception. This includes the gym and fitness classes*
*fitness classes must be booked prior to attending and are subject to availability
We also offer promotions throughout the year which offer free passes or short term memberships so keep an eye on our website and be the first to claim these offers when they happen.
I’M UNDER 18, WHAT DO I NEED TO ACCESS THE GYM?
If you are 16+ and have a current student card (i.e college, in education), please bring it along with you to the reception so that you will be able to access the facilities and purchase a membership at a concession rate. If you are not a student, you can either purchase a day pass or a public membership. Find out which suits you best here.

HOW DO I BOOK FITNESS CLASSES?
You can book any of our exercise classes, including Les Mills, Yoga and more, on our website Sport Sheffield Group Fitness. Classes can be booked up to 3 days in advance either online or at reception.
I’M GOING AWAY. CAN I FREEZE MY MEMBERSHIP?
Yes – you can freeze your membership by emailing email@example.com or by completing the following form: click here. Please allow a minimum of 10 working days for any notification. (only applicable to Direct Debit)
HOW DO I CANCEL MY DIRECT DEBIT MEMBERSHIP?
Your Direct Debit membership may be cancelled by giving 10 working days notice before the end of the month. Working days are days of the year excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
The minimum 3 monthly payments must have been completed.
CAN I BOOK A PERSONAL TRAINER?
Yes, our expert personal trainers are on hand to help you establish a fitness routine that works for you. Sessions start from £26.00 per hour, with discounts available for block bookings. All sessions can be booked around your availability.
To get you started, we offer you a FREE Fitness Programme when you join. If you haven't booked yours yet, we'll be happy to arrange it for you at Reception.

CAN I BOOK INDIVIDUAL DAYS OR FULL WEEK?
Yes, you can book individual days or full weeks.
WHAT TIME DO YOU RUN AND HOW MUCH IS IT?
Standard day is 8.30- 5.15 p.m £28
Wraparound is available at an additional cost £4 per session
AM - 7.45- 8.30 a.m
PM - 5.15- 6.00 p.m
CAN MY CHILD WHO IS 4 COME? THEY ARE AT SCHOOL BUT NOT 5 UNTIL..
No unfortunately not. As we are only on the Ofsted voluntary register this prohibits us from taking children under 5 years of age
DO YOU ACCEPT CHILDCARE VOUCHERS/TAX FREE CHILDCARE?

DO YOU RUN DURING ALL HOLIDAYS?
No unfortunately as we are a University facility we don’t have the space available to run during all holidays. We do however run through Christmas, Easter, May and Summer holidays.
ARE YOU OFSTED AFFILIATED?

CAN I BOOK FACILITIES MORE THAN A WEEK IN ADVANCE?
Yes, for one off events. Requests would need to go through the Bookings and Events team at email@example.com
CAN I BOOK A TRAINING SLOT FOR MORE THAN A WEEK AT A TIME?
Space is very limited but we do have a selection of booking slots that are available to book on a block booking basis. Please contact bookings team to check the available space on firstname.lastname@example.org
WHAT SPORTS CLUBS DO WE HAVE?

CAN SOMEONE JOIN A CLUB IF THEY ARE NOT A STUDENT?
This would be down to the clubs discretion, contact the club directly through https://www.sport-sheffield.com/club-sport
HOW MUCH IS IT TO JOIN A SPORTS CLUB?

HOW CAN MY TEAM GET INVOLVED IN CAMPUS LEAGUES?
All information for leagues can be found on our web pages with sign ups available online. We open our academic year leagues in August with fixtures starting in mid-October: www.sport-sheffield.com/campus-leagues
CAN NON-STUDENT TEAMS GET INVOLVED?
We can accommodate staff or public teams if there is space available. Please contact the Campus Leagues team for further information: email@example.com
ARE LEAGUES OFFICIATED?
Our small sided football leagues (5 and 6-a-side) are self officiated. Currently we provide officials for Netball, 11-a-side Football and Touch Rugby.
CAN MY TEAM JOIN ONCE LEAGUES HAVE STARTED?
Once leagues are underway at the start of the academic year, we can’t add further teams. If a league hasn’t filled however, or a space becomes available, we do have waiting lists for teams.
We also offer mini leagues during semester two for new teams to get involved.
CAN I PLAY IF I’M NOT PART OF A TEAM?

How can I give you my feedback?

This is the best way to let us know when you have an enquiry or comment that needs immediate attention. Please speak to a member of staff who will help resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

What happens after I have given you my feedback?
Our aim is to use customer feedback to continuously improve our facilities and services; once comments are made, we aim to deal with them as quickly and efficiently as possible. If you speak to a member of staff they will endeavour to deal with your comment at the time of your visit, however, if your comment requires further consideration or the attention of another member of our team, the information will be passed on and you will receive a response as to the outcome (if requested) within 7 days.
If you contact us via our online form, email or via social media your comment will be assigned to the most relevant member of our team and you will receive a response (if requested) within 7 days.
What if the response I receive does not meet my expectations?
Should you have any problems with the response you receive from us in respect to your feedback you may request a formal review of your case via our appeals process.
Any appeal should be submitted within 10 days of Sport Sheffield’s final written response to you.
The case will then be reviewed by Sport Sheffield’s Senior Management Team who may decide:
- to uphold the complaint.
- that the matter should be referred for consideration in line with another University procedure.
- that there are insufficient grounds to take further action, thus concluding the consideration of the matter under these procedures
You will receive a written response from a member of the Senior Management Team within 10 working days of your appeal being received.
Talkback primarily aims to capture feedback relating directly to our services, facilities and staff members. In some circumstances, there may be better options available to report your feedback.
The University of Sheffield complaints procedure
Dependent of the nature of your complaint, if you are a Univeristy of Sheffield Student, it may be more suitable to use the University of Sheffield’s central complaints procedure.
